How to Gracefully Flow
Right now, life can seem very confusing for some. We have had to readjust just about everything we understood previously by adjusting our eyes and hearts to see more clearly. The new technology has asked us to reconsider our understandings and assimilate at record speeds that don’t even faze the younger generations. And we are learning new techniques daily so we can keep up with the ever-evolving information from limitless sources! But let’s slow down a bit by considering that the present moment can only ask so much of our attention! Moving within our flow with discretion and grace can make this process much less stressful.
Flow is a psychological state of mind. I identify flow within myself by how it feels. It has a distinguishable sense of calm and reassurance that is palpable. I lose myself in intense concentration that allows me to put mundane matters aside effortlessly. I also feel that time gets distorted and I lose the need to keep track of it! Daily distractions become insignificant during this time. Do you feel like you’re pushing a weight uphill or sailing on calm seas? The difference in feeling can actually be that extreme. Our intuition can give many types of signals depending on how we receive our information, not that we don’t have less favorable work activities. These are necessary and going out of our comfort zone is sometimes a worthwhile requirement. However, by the amount and duration of the discomfort we can often identify a wrong road taken.
According to Webster’s 21st Century Dictionary, “grace” is the state of beauty in form, movement, or manner. Obviously a lovely and easy way to flow unhampered. Grace includes a sense of propriety and goodwill towards others as an important aspect of itself. Also, the aspect of thankfulness gives momentum to the process.
The benefits of Graceful Flow include feeling increased happiness and productivity. In setting up our goals, we have to create a balance between extremes. Too difficult can cause fear and anxiety, while too easy creates dreaded boredom! By wisely setting up a balance between these two you can set yourself up to enter that ecstatic state of flow!
